Dare To Fail - Inspiration

Dare
to Fail and “Make Friends” with Our Problem “Makers”
To
reach our dreams……
Failure
is not the END of our attempts. Even in most cases, it is just THE BEGINNING of
a new hope.
Because…...failure
brings its own lessons from which we can learn much and make necessary improvement. We would be better in quality
because of it and get tougher as well as stronger at the same time. And…… as we
know, a true success* is available for
those who keep struggling sincerely, while a true fighter must be tough and strong.
Never let yourselves run away from
your problems or simply quit for any obstacles. Even every single person who
makes your step stops and causes a thought that everything does not seem to run
well, might contribute to your success* in the future. Wondering? How will
those “problem makers” be our “friends” to help us get better and reach our
goals? Well….it is only a positive
intention to change our mindset about “difficult people or haters” around us
into more positive energy. It is very reasonable to think that way. In fact,
what they do to make us in troubles
or feel uncomfortable would help us to be more patient—patience leads us to
toughness. Problems that they bring to us might stimulate our smart and
creative mind to perform its best. Surely, it gives us more benefits, doesn’t
it? What we get from it not only strength but also quality (as a
person and in competence), which are getting improved, better, even reaches their
best.
So….no more excuses for fears to get
failed and to face our problems and their “maker”. May God bless us and grant
great success* and happiness. Amen.(m.h.)

value. ~Albert Einstein

Love Can Wait - June 2012 ed.
WELCOME
ENGLISH SPACE * INSPIRATION *
I’m about leaving my junior high
school, and during my study here, I’ve got learned many things. One of them is
LOVE. I know, LOVE will hardly fail to
catch teenagers’ attention J.
And guess what, anytime we talk about LOVE, we will remember that Valentine’s
Day, won’t you?
So, I picked one of my best notes
about Valentine, I hope you would enjoy it. Happy Reading J
Love Can
Wait
Okay, so this is February and I can almost feel the passion of love in the air. Hmmm…… Almost all
my friends and my friend’s friends J , already
have a partner to share their chocolates and roses by the 14th of
February. Let’s just say everyone (who’s not single) is happy to celebrate this
month of lovey-dovey stuff.
But how about us, singles? Should we feel depressed to be alone in
Valentine? Well, I don’t and I hope you don’t either. Let me tell you
something.
This will be my next 14th
Valentine, and never even once I have celebrated
it with ‘my one and only’ lover. Three days before this Valentine I thought, “Oh my God, will I
spend the rest of my life alone? My friends have been dating since they even
couldn’t do 1+1. And I solved x+y but I still can’t solve a boy’s heart!” J And I was freaked out of this really little
unimportant thing.
Later that day, I got home and my sweet little brother just ran into
me, made me almost fell off of my feet. I was mad but then he smiled at me and
showed me a picture he drew. He seemed really proud and happy that I couldn’t
say any negative thing about that picture (even though it was really
“abstract”, if you got my point J).
So I said, “Good work, Mel! You’re so brilliant! I believe one day you’ll be an
artist!” And then he smiled and said, “Thanks Sis, I love you!” and just ran
away. I melted. Almost.
He left me
standing there, thinking for a moment. “Hey, you know what? I better get a rose
from my brother than 100 roses from a guy!” And suddenly, I don’t care if I’m
single and I don’t care about the chocolates and roses I’ll miss anymore. I
only care about these people who genuinely love me with all their heart, and
these people called as “Family”.
Because boyfriends may come and go away, but family? Once it’s a
family, it will always be “a family”, whatever you name it.

wait for me” – Cameron Mitchell

Legend of
the Chinese Dragon
The farther dragons travel
from their home in China, the more toes they lose. Fortunately, Will and Guy
have discovered that when wandering dragons return home to China, all their
missing toes grow back. Since most dragons would prefer to keep all their
toes, all the time, few dragons ever wander very far from home.
Explanation:
In
addition to China, Korea and Japan use dragons in their art. Fortunately,
it's easy to tell the difference just count the dragon's toes.
- Chinese dragons have five toes.
- Korean dragons have four toes.
- Japanese dragons have three toes.

WELCOME : fun fact
CHINESE NEW YEAR
This month on the 3rd we had a holiday. It
was the first day of Chinese New Year. People call that day as Imlek or Sin
Tjia. Imlek or Sin Tjia is a feast held by the farmers to welcome the spring.
The Imlek or Sin Tjia is started on 30 in the twelfth month until on 15 in the
first month.
Imlek or Sin Tjia was a thanksgiving day of the
farmers for God’s blessings to them and was a hope of the farmers to have a
good harvest the following year .
When
Imlek or Sin Tjia comes , the Chinese people usually have many activities, such
as, Imlek Worship (A worship to God), Barongsai performance , family gathering,
visiting relatives and neighbors, etc.
Because Imlek comes from farmers culture, the
offerings consist of twelve kinds of foods and twelve kinds of cookies. Twelve
is the symbol of twelve shio. Cookies which are made, are sweeter than usual.
It means, Chinese people hope that their life will be better than last year.
They also make layered cookies symbolizing double blessings they will get next
year.
After having worship, the family will have dinner
together and they don’t sleep all night. They open the door widely because they
hope, by doing it, the blessings will
enter their houses.
Seven days after Imlek, they have worship once more.
The purpose of this worship is to ask a good life to God for the next year.
Fifteen days after Imlek Chinese people have “Cap Go
Meh” feast. At this moment the family have lunch together and the menu consists
of lontong, chicken, egg, and satay .
Based on the story about Imlek above, we can get many
valuable lessons. First, we have to thank God for the blessing we have got .
Second, we have to expect the best in our lfe . Third, we have to maintain good relationship with our relatives and
neighbors. (Cindy Tanara 8B)

THE YEAR
OF THE RABBIT, 2011
02/03/2011 - 01/22/2012 (Metal)
According to the Chinese Zodiac,
the Year of 2011 is the Year of the Golden Rabbit, which
begins on February 3, 2011 and ends on January 22, 2012. The Rabbit is
the fourth sign of the Chinese Zodiac,
which consists of 12 animal symbols. The Rabbit is a lucky symbol .
People born in the Year of the Rabbit are reasonably friendly
individuals who enjoy the company of a group of good friends. They are
good teachers, counselors and communicators, but also need their own space.
According to Chinese tradition, the Rabbit brings a
year in which you can catch your breath and calm your nerves. It is a
time for negotiation. Don't try to force issues, because if you do, you
will ultimately fail. To gain the greatest benefits from this time, focus
on home, family, security, and your
relationship with friends.
Few people know that the Rabbit is the symbol of the
Moon, while the Peacock is the symbol of the Sun, and those two altogether,
these two animal signs signify the start of day and night, represent the Yin
and Yang of life. It is said that anyone making supplications for wishes
to be fulfilled, are certain to get what they want... and in the Year of the
Rabbit, the wish-granting aspect of the Sun and the Moon combined, is
multiplied. The Moon is YIN and this is the Yin of Heaven, signifying
magic. Thus, on each of the Full Moon nights of this year, go out
into your garden to gaze into the Full Moon and visualize plenty of Moon dust
and Moon glow flowing into you, filling your whole body with bright white light
and granting you fearlessness, love and courage. This will not only
strengthen your inner "Chi" energy, it will also
bring wisdom into your life. (Source

~~THE TESTS~~
By: Yeremia Aryo 8B
Dear readers,
Now we are talking about ‘Life is Full of Tests’. What is in your mind hearing the word “test”? Most of us tend to think that all tests are difficult.. No wonder, many of them give up as they are facing a (difficult) test. But, have you ever thought that all tests can be solved because God will never give us a test that we can’t find the way out.
For a simple example, when someone isn’t good at mathematic and try to do ‘Sudoku’ (mathematic game), he might think that the ‘Sudoku’ is very difficult. “Sudoku” is a game which has been designed to be solved in such a way. He is not able to solve the problem in ‘Sudoku’ because he gives up easily, he does not let his mind free to get the answer, he has cut off his own way to find out the answer. But if he does the contratry, if he takes time to work with that “numerical crossword” puzzle patiently, I am sure he will be able to fulfill the blank boxes in that ‘Sudoku’.
Here some tips I give to you when you find a hard test:
1. Never say give up and always try it over and over again
2. Always be optimistic and never be the contrary
3. Ask your friend to help you solve the problem
4. If none of them (your friends) have got any ideas or willingness to help you out, then come to your parents or teacher who—I believe—are always ready to give a hand for any problems we are dealing with.
5. The best way: Pray to God. Ask God for some help, because God will help us dealing with all matters in our life.
WELCOME : fun n good times

And …nowadays…..how we keep her spirits, how men are able to have fun too and feel her spirits as well?.....Let’s check it out.. J

Life Is Full Of Tests
Theodora S. 7A-34
Oh, no! I woke up late this morning. In a hurry, I prepared myself for school. I took a bath, and….damn! The water didn’t run at all. Malang had no water for two days. My mom asked some water from my neighbor and we had to carry it by ourselves! I went to school without taking a bath, just washed my face.
At school I did the math test. The test was difficult. I wasn’t sure if I could get good mark. Then the Geography teacher distributed the last week test. I almost cried because I didn’t pass the grade.
I was glad when the school bell rang. I went to parking area to pick up my bicycle. My heart beat because I couldn’t find my cycle. I looked around school, ran here and there to find it. At last, I saw it leaned against the big school gate. The standard stick was broken, the paint was cracked on several spots. I got very upset. How can people in a school which has a “Go Green” motto treat one of its students who support green environment in such bad manner? (wondering…who had done that to me…)
Today was a bad day for me. I realized that life is not easy. It is full of tests and problems. I have to be strong and fight hard for the living. So, don’t give up, keep struggling.

~~TRUE LOVE~~
Most people don’t understand the meaning of TRUE LOVE. TRUE LOVE is one hundred percent dedication and commitment of the couple. It’s so difficult to get the true meaning of love, because love requires loyalty, trust, effort, security, dependability, emotions, dreams, and aspirations.
I think TRUE LOVE is about loving one another for all the good and the bad of each partner, so it wouldn’t be easy to break up because of disagreement. And what you must remember is: love is not about physical beauty, social background, or sensuality! If you want to seek your true love, you must be ready to feel the pain of rejection from the one you love, and ready to sacrifice in order to maintain the relationship with your partner. These are the basic concepts of love that you should remember:
- One love, one life.
- Love takes time to grow and ripen
- Respect your partner’s background
- Understand the commitment between you and your partner
- Be fair to each other
- Difficulties that you have are actually to strengthen your love.
There are a few tips for you. I hope these tips can help you improve or maintain the relationship between your partner and you.
- Be strong to take the consequences of love; don’t blame your partner because of this.
- Be loveable ( the willingness to adjust yourself in order to make someone feel comfortable with you )
- Be trustworthy.
- Be ready to learn new things about life and love.
- Be ready to face the unexpected conditions
- Don’t be too possessive!
- Try to avoid misunderstandings.
So it’s not as easy as we think, is it? Don’t give up, keep trying, guys!!!!

WELCOME : story A LOVE OF A MOTHER (Rachel 9C)
Once upon a time, a little girl named Alice invited her classmates to play at her house. When her friend arrived at her home, all her family were not at home. She took them all to her room, so they can play there. “I’m hungry, is there anything I can eat?” said one of her friends after playing for awhile, “Yes, I’m hungry too!” said the other friend as well. “ Okay, I’ll bring some food from the kitchen,” said Alice while opening the door. When Alice was searching for food in the kitchen, she found a biscuit box that looked expensive. “Wow, look at this! This is an expensive one! I guess mom bought this for us in case we get hungry. Oh, how kind she is!” she said happily while taking the biscuit to her friend. “Wow, isn’t that expensive?” said her friend. “Yeah! Is it okay if we eat it?” asked the other. “ Of course it is okay! After all, my mother bought it for us!” said Alice confidently. After they ate all the biscuits and played, they went home.
At noon, all her families already came home. Alice wanted to thank her mother for the biscuit. She went to the kitchen. But, she saw her mother was searching for something. “Is there something wrong, Mom?” Alice asked. “Ah, Alice, did you see a box of biscuit here? I was about to give it to our new neighbor, but now it’s missing.” When Alice heard that, she felt like a thunder attacked her. She already ate them all… “I’m afraid I don’t know about any biscuits, I will go study then” said Alice lying to her mother and went upstairs.
“What should I do? I don’t have money to replace it!” she said to herslef. Then she saw her sister’s piggy bank. She took it and broke it. It had much money in it. “This should be enough to buy the same biscuits, Sis, don’t worry, I’ll make up for it later. I should buy the biscuits tomorrow.” said Alice while grabbing the money tightly.
The next day….. “Mom, I’m going to school, bye!” said Alice. But, she didn’t go to school. Yes, surely she went to the bakery where her mother bought the biscuits. When she arrived at the bakery she ordered the same biscuit box and paid it with her sister’s saving. When she took the biscuit, her mother came. “Alice! What are you doing at here?! You’re supposed to be at school now! And why did you buy that biscuit?” her mother’s questioning her. “Oh, Mom I…I am …”. “Whose money you used to buy the biscuits?” Her mother got absolutely angry. “Okay, you’re coming home with me!”. Alice cried.
Then they arrived at home. “Explain yourself!” said her mother. “I… I thought that biscuit was for us…so… I ate them. Then, I… wanted to replace it… but I didn’t have any money… so…” Alice was talking while crying. “So you stole your sister’s saving, right? Your sister said it to me yesterday.” Her mother gazed at her. “Huaaaaa! I’m sorry! I won’t do that again!” Alice kept crying. “Hah… Idiot! If you had just said sorry to what you’d done , I wouldn’t have got this mad…”said her mother, but then gave her a hug. A hug of a nice and wise mother, full of forgiveness. “It was painful, right? When you do something wrong and lie, you will need to make another lie to hide it.” . “Hua, I’m sorry! I won’t do that again!” said Alice, begged for forgiveness. “That’s my daughter! It’s okay… mother has already forgiven you.” said her mother, then smiling to Alice, with a gain…..a lovely hug around Alice’s head.
After that, Alice had to apologize and made up for her sister’s money. She promised to herself not to lie anymore, to anyone…

At Saint Claus University , at North Pinguin street 0071/2, there was a test WBSC (Wanna Be Saint Claus) that was very well-known. The best graduated student would replace the Saint Claus xxxvi
There was a man that wanted to be a Saint Claus, but it seemed that he wasn’t the right person for that. His name is Saint Tom Crauise (TC). He got F in all subjects, afraid of deer, skinny, and many more.
One of the tests from WBSC was passing the MI3 (Mission Impossible 3). The Saint Claus candidates had to visit remote places to give appropriate Christmas gifts for the kids there. TC was sent to Nim’s Island .
But on his trip….
TC: “Oh my God! It’s rainy, no transportation, and wet. Phew…, fortunately…. my cart type is ‘Let’s Get the Beat’. My love is music, music colors my life. So I can come to the Island soon. Hohohoho…..Let’s go!
He got very excited and did not realize that he had lost one of the presents on his trip.
TC: “Saint Clause is coming to the island!..Saint Clause is coming to the island..tut tu tut …turut…Yeah…, at least…..only one house left…. If I finish this mission, I will have Kids Choice Awards trophy. Hohohoho…But …heyyyy…where is the last gift?…..I can’t find it here! Oh no….”
Suddenly, TC heard a little boy crying. The voice was from the last house that had not got the Christmas gift
TC: “Why are you crying?”
LB: “I heard bad news, my father can’t go home because his plane got broken at Quantum of Solace airport.”
TC: “If you haven’t got any gift, will you be as sad as this time?”
LB: “Of course not, I won’t. For me….my father is the nicest gift in the world.”
Suddenly, a bright idea got into TC’s head.
TC: “Really? I’ve got to go now. Wait for your Christmas gift here. Merry Christmas.”
So, TC got the true meaning of Christmas. He did not care about the gift anymore--those common gifts. There was something which was very special, the most special gift, indeed, for Christmas. So, he went to Quantum of Solace quickly and helped the engineer to repair the plane. Then, he went back to his house in North Pole happily because he had done something which was very important to help the little boy. However, he got a little bit disappointed because he was not able to complete the MI3 mission.
Soon, the result of the WBSC test was announced.
Headmaster: “Congratulation, TC! You have finished the test well. We sent a spy to watch all of the test participants, and TC was proved successful in performing good attitude and integrity. Now, he is the Saint Claus xxxvii.”
.
>NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO THERE WILL BE CRITICS
>AS LONG AS THERE ARE TESTS, THERE WILL BE PRAYERS IN SCHOOLS…(LOL)
In our previous edition, we discussed “adjectives” and how to use them in describing something. Now….try to find more adjectives in all written materials here, and pay attention to how they are used in any expressions. Remember, most of them will be used in these constructions:
- Noun phrase, e.g.: Interesting story
(adj) (N)
- S + to be + adjective
e.g .It is interesting
It was interesting
- S + (to) get/become/feel + adjective
e.g.She got angry
- S + (to) make + O + adjective
e.g. She will make you happy
